Rome 3rd - 7th October 2012 We Pax Romana members from different nations, continents, cultures, generations, in electronic connection with other members who could not come to Rome met from 3rd to 7th October 2012. The meeting was aimed to contribute to the work of the synod and we pray for its success. Realizing the need for greater ardour to accompany the new evangelization in the spirit of the Second Vatican council, Pax Romana calls upon for a more effective involvement and stronger mobilization on new evangelization. One challenging question today is “How can we create the conditions to implement this in an effective manner?” Being part of the universal church and evangelizers through the virtue of our baptism, we as lay people have more that ever a greater responsibility of announcing the gospel, and to empower those too often invisible or not listened to such as poors, indigenous, women, youth, vulnerable persons etc. Reminded by Pope John XXIII opening speech during the second Vatican council stressing on the World as a place where the Holy Spirit is acting, we are awaken to respond to this and we believe that; • We have to be more audacious and ready to take risk of decisions without fear of uncertainties as we are guided by the Holy Spirit. • We have to actively listen to the world we live in and analyze to discern the signs of times. • Evangelization therefore becomes a question of dialogue between cultures, traditions, religions and generations and not merely a top-down message transmission. This gives space to local churches to participate more creatively in evangelization through inculturation. • We have to study the collective dimensions of our economies and policies to fight the structures of evil and to enhance transformation of cultures for a common good. In the first place, this calls for the evangelization of the church herself through Jesus Christ’s exemplary way of living and acting. Examples and actions are often a better language than declarations. This brings us to identify three main challenges of evangelization today; • Poverty situation of too many people in the world, for which charity is the “best language” of evangelization. • The dialogue with the modern cultures around the issue of “truth” as a proposal of more meaningful life. • Religious pluralism of the current world and the challenge of dialogue at grassroots level. We therefore invite our member movements and delegations in the international institutions to become active agents of new evangelization at the national and global levels in communion with the fathers of the synod and the local churches. Pax Romana commits herself to reflect and act on new evangelization and thereafter implement the recommendations that will come out from the synod. Rome, 3 - 7 Octobre 2012 Nous, membres de Pax Romana venant de différents continents, nations, cultures, générations, en liaison électronique avec d'autres qui n'ont pas pu venir à Rome, nous sommes réunis à Rome du 3 au 7 Octobre 2012, dans le but d’apporter notre contribution aux travaux du Synode et nous avons prié pour sa réussite. Conscient de la nécessité d'une plus grande ardeur pour accompagner la nouvelle évangélisation dans l'esprit du Concile Vatican II, Pax Romana en appelle à une participation plus effective de tous les baptisés et à une plus forte mobilisation en faveur de la nouvelle évangélisation. Une question difficile se pose à nous aujourd'hui : «Comment pouvons-nous créer les conditions pour mettre cela en œuvre d'une manière efficace? ». Membres de l’église universelle et appelés à être évangélisateurs par la vertu de notre baptême, nous, laïcs, avons plus que jamais la grande responsabilité d'annoncer l’évangile et à intégrer dans cette tâche des personnes trop souvent invisibles ou inaudibles comme les pauvres, les populations autochtones, les femmes, les jeunes, les personnes vulnérables, etc. Nous rappelons le discours du pape Jean XXIII à l’aube du Concile Vatican II présentant notre monde comme un lieu où l'Esprit Saint nous précède et agit. Cela incite à penser que : • Nous devons être plus audacieux et prêts à prendre le risque de décider sans craindre les incertitudes, guidés que nous sommes par l'Esprit Saint. • Nous devons nous mettre à l’écoute du monde dans lequel nous vivons pour y analyser et discerner les signes des temps. • L'évangélisation devient dès lors une question de dialogue entre les cultures, les traditions, les religions et les générations et pas seulement la transmission d’un message de haut en bas. Cela ouvre un espace pour les églises locales pour participer de manière plus créative à l'évangélisation par l'inculturation. • Nous devons étudier les dimensions collectives des économies et des politiques publiques, lutter contre les structures du mal et contribuer à la transformation des cultures pour le bien commun. Ceci nous incite à envisager en premier une évangélisation de l'église elle-même en s’inspirant de la vie et des actions de Jésus-Christ. Les exemples et les actions constituent souvent un meilleur langage que des paroles. Ceci nous amène à identifier trois principaux défis de l'évangélisation aujourd'hui : - La situation de pauvreté de trop de gens dans le monde actuel ; pour eux, la charité est la «meilleure langue» de l'évangélisation. - Le dialogue avec les cultures modernes autour de la question de la «vérité» comme une proposition de vie plus significative. - Le pluralisme religieux du monde actuel et le défi du dialogue inter religieux au niveau local. Aussi, nous invitons nos mouvements membres et nos délégués auprès des institutions internationales à devenir des agents actifs de la nouvelle évangélisation à l'échelle nationale et mondiale en communion avec les pères du synode et les églises locales. Pax Romana s’engage à réfléchir et à agir pour la nouvelle évangélisation et à mettre en œuvre les recommandations de ce synode. Pax Romana, fondée en 1921, est constitué de deux organisations: - le MIIC est un mouvement international de professionnels laïcs catholiques avec une spiritualité de l'action au service de la dignité humaine et du bien commun dans la société humaine - le MIEC: Mouvement international des étudiants catholiques. Declaración de Pax Romana sobre la “Nueva Evangelización para la transmisión de la fe cristiana” Roma 3-7 octubre 2012 Nosotros, miembros de Pax Romana de diferentes naciones, continentes, culturas, generaciones, en conexión electrónica con otros miembros que no han podido venir a Roma, nos hemos reunido del 3 al 7 octubre de 2012. El encuentro ha tenido como objetivo contribuir al trabajo del Sínodo. También hemos orado por el buen desarrollo de este acontecimiento eclesial. Conscientes de la necesidad de un mayor ardor que acompañe la Nueva Evangelización, en el espíritu del Concilio Vaticano II, Pax Romana insta a una participación más efectiva y a una mayor movilización en torno a la Nueva Evangelización Una pregunta desafiante de hoy es "¿Cómo podemos crear las condiciones para implementar dicha evangelización de una manera efectiva?. Siendo parte de la Iglesia universal y evangelizadores, virtud recibida a través de nuestro bautismo, nosotros como laicos y laicas tenemos hoy, más que nunca, una mayor responsabilidad en dar a conocer el Evangelio, y en empoderar a las personas que son, demasiado a menudo, invisibles o no escuchadas: las mujeres, los jóvenes, las personas vulnerables, etc Recordamos las palabras dichas por el Papa Juan XXIII en su discurso de apertura del Concilio Vaticano II, en las que destacó “el mundo como un lugar donde el Espíritu Santo está actuando”, creemos que es así y queremos actuar en consecuencia, es por ello que: • Tenemos que ser más audaces y estar dispuestos a tomar el riesgo de decidir, a pesar de las incertidumbres, mientras somos guiados por el Espíritu Santo. • Tenemos que escuchar activamente al mundo en que vivimos y discernir los signos de los tiempos. • De este modo, la evangelización se convierte en una cuestión de diálogo entre las culturas, tradiciones, religiones y generaciones y no simplemente una  transmisión unilateral del mensaje. Entenderla así, da espacio a las iglesias locales para que puedan participar de manera más creativa en la evangelización a través de la inculturación. • Tenemos que abordar los aspectos colectivos de nuestras realidades económicas y políticas para luchar contra las estructuras de pecado y para promover la transformación de las culturas para el bien común. En primer lugar, esto requiere la evangelización de la propia Iglesia a través del seguimiento ejemplar de Jesús Cristo en su vivir y su actuar. Los ejemplos y las acciones son a menudo un lenguaje mejor que el de las declaraciones. Desde ahí identificamos tres retos que consideramos principales para que la evangelización sea posible hoy: • Ante la situación de pobreza de muchas personas en el mundo insistir en que la caridad es el "mejor lenguaje" de la evangelización. • Entender el diálogo con las culturas modernas en torno al tema de la "verdad" como una propuesta de vida más significativa. • El pluralismo religioso del mundo actual y el desafío al diálogo sobre el terreno. Por lo tanto, invitamos a todos nuestros movimientos y delegaciones ante las instituciones internacionales a que se conviertan en agentes activos de la Nueva Evangelización en los ámbitos nacional y mundial, en comunión con los Padres del Sínodo y las iglesias locales. Pax Romana se compromete a reflexionar y actuar en la perspectiva de la Nueva Evangelización y, posteriormente, poner en práctica las recomendaciones que vengan del Sínodo.  En Roma a día 7 de Octubre de 2012.
